The ICT Division undertook the award-winning National Mobile Application Development Awareness & Capacity Building Program with the goal of helping the youth of Bangladesh connect to the billion dollar international mobile application market. The project especially emphasized providing technical training for independent mobile application developer to freelancers in universities and at the grassroots level. Through idea generation workshops held at different ministries, effort was given to raise awareness of mobile application potentials among the public and among policy makers. The project creates world-class IT professionals through employment in local and international markets. It creates a software industry, creating the provision of ICT-based services along with the decentralization of ICT development endeavoring by moving such efforts outside the capital. The success of this project will be an active boom to the established goal of 2021: Digital Bangladesh mission.
